Formerly known as Clarian Health, Indiana University Health offers an Associate of Science degree through Ball State University. Students must complete their first 28 semester hours upon to the university to fulfill their preclinical phase courses. The stop students based on this formula: GPA of required preclinical courses x 8) + (GPA of required preclinical math/science courses x 17 will be selection to enter the clinical portion of the program.

IUN’s program is a Radiologic Sciences degree that has a Radiation Therapy concentration that is offered every odd year. Based on the school’s website, students may complete both an Radiographer’s certificate and Radiation Therapy certificate from ARRT upon graduation with a couple of extra classes. Students will complete 122 credits total with 55 credits in prerequisites and general education courses. 67 credits of professional radiation therapy courses.

Indiana University – Purdue offers a BS degree for non-radiographers and radiographers. Students that are already registered with ARRT can skip some of the prerequisites and complete the program after completing 20 month of professional core classes as long as the prereq classes are met. While students that have not completed any other degree must complete 51 credit hours of prerequisites in addition to another 22-month (71 credits) of professional RT core classes in their junior and senior years. Applicants that are a resident of Indiana will have higher priority for admissions.

This is a straight forward 2 year degree for people do not have any other degrees yet. This program is offered at the Bloomington campus. Before applying for the professional portion of the degree, students must complete: Anatomy, Physics 1, Math 121,131, or 137, and Medical Terminology. Applicants are also required to job shadow at a minimum of 2-4 hours at a radiation therapy and/or oncology department.

Rad Therapy students will also have an option to take part in a Proton Therapy certificate. Proton therapy is still at the cutting edge of cancer treatment and students with this certificate will have a leg up when the treatment becomes more common. This is only one of few programs in the US.

Application Deadline: Applications are accepted starting March 1st and deadline is May 31st. Classes start in August.
