Bellevue College offers the only Radiation Therapy program in Washington. Students will earn an Associates of Arts in Radiation Therapy rather than a Associates of Science degree. Classes are held all quarters including the summer quarters (extended 10 weeks).

Students that complete the program will also have the option to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in 5 concentrations:

  • Radiation and Imaging Management (RAIM)
  • Radiation and Imaging Technology (RAIT)
  • Medical Dosimetry
  • Radiologist Assistant
  • Nuclear Medicine

Admission Requirements

  • Be high school graduates or possess a GED.
  • At least a 3.0 (B) in the following courses:
    • The Math (Intermediate Algebra)
    • Science (Human Anatomy and Physiology I&II)
    • English Composition – 5 credits or equivalent (ENGL 101 at Bellevue College).
    • Cultural Diversity – CMST 280 Intercultural Communication or BC CMST 250 Organizational Communication
    • Human Anatomy and Physiology I&II- 10 credit minimum or equivalent (BIOL& 241 and 242 at Bellevue College previously named BIOL 260 and BIOL 261)
    • Intermediate Algebra – 5 credits (MATH 099 at Bellevue College)
    • Precalculus (BC MATH&141, 142)
    • Calculus (BC MATH&151, 152, 153) or Business Algebra (BC MATH& 138)..
      Speech/Communication – 5 credits (CMST& 101at Bellevue College previously named SPCH 100) or CMST& 210 (previously named SPCH 200)
    • Have the ability to use a computer for word processing and internet research.

Admission Criteria

Applicants will be ranked based on the following items:

  • Prerequisites Grades – must receive 3.0 (B) in all prerequisites
  • Formal Interview
  • Assessment Test in math and Reading
  • Observation in radiation oncology department
  • ARRT certified Radiographers will have higher placement
