The program offered at West Virginia University Hospital is a 12 month certificate program for registered Radiologic technologists that has been accredited since 1975 by JRCERT. This is a full time 40 hours/week program with typical schedule of 2-3 hours of classroom instruction and 5-6 hours of clinical internship each day that are all done at the West Virginia University Hospital.

  • Completed Performance Standards form.
  • Official ACT or SAT exams scores
    • Minimum required scores:
      • ACT (Composite) = 19
      • SAT (Critical Reading + Math) = 900
      • ACT or SAT Writing component is not required or included.
    • Requirement may be waived for applicants possessing a baccalaureate degree.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • with satisfactory completion of at least two(2) courses of higher mathematics (Algebra I or higher), and at least three (3) courses of high school level (or higher) science. 
  • Applicant must be a graduate (or pending graduate) from a JRCERT accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Grade transcripts from all previous academic experiences to include:
    • Radiologic Technology
    • High School or GED
    • College (if applicable)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT certification)
    • Registry eligible students are accepted into the Program on the condition that they successfully pass the ARRT examination in Radiography. Students who do not pass must withdraw from the Program and can reapply upon passing the exam.
